Our Story

Shiney Hiney Diaper Pantry is a non-profit incorporated in the State of Texas with a 501©(3) designation. Founded by Houstonian Tiawona Osborne-Davis, the idea of Shiney Hiney Diaper Pantry began during the COVID 19 pandemic in March 2020. The pandemic devastated the world prompting schools and daycares to close along with suspending several social service agencies. Witnessing the negative economic impact and mass unemployment Mrs.Davis’ heart overflowed with compassion.

Many families could not afford diapers and in–turn resulted in reusing disposable diapers, wrapping a towel or a plastic grocery store bag around the child and rationing 1 to 2 diapers for the entire day due to the inability to purchase more. As a former teen parent, Tiawona remembered not having sufficient resources like diapers, wipes, and other baby items.

Through the relatability a vision was born.

Without an appropriate supply of clean diapers, children can suffer from diaper rashes, staph infections and other life threatening medical conditions. The inability to locate social service agencies during the pandemic that could meet this vast growing diaper crisis, prompted an immediate call to action.

Thus, in 2021 Tiawona rallied anyone who dared to believe their service could move a mountain and opened a phoenix of hope in her community. Resembling a landmark on the road to relief for the under-served, and a crusader for the disadvantaged.

Shiney Hiney Diaper Pantry was formed.
